Hi Dan, Remember me, Sally from the Spatsizi trip last summer. How are you and the family doing there in Telegraph Creek?

My apologies for not writing sooner to first say thank you again for the great float last summer to Wrangell. I could have bedrolled for a week on that river. - SVD 2005

Day 1 - Meet the Collingwood party at the floatplane base in Iskut around noon (see Spatsizi Wilderness Vacations 2004 dates).  Independent clients can either drive into Telegraph Creek or we can pick you up in Dease Lake in the afternoon.  A leisurely drive to Telegraph Creek with a picnic lunch and sightseeing stops along the way.  Dinner and accommodations at the RiverSong.

Day 2 - A relaxing day wandering about Telegraph Creek town site. We would include a white water jet boat trip  (approximately 2 hrs) into the canyon if you are interested.  This would take us above the confluence of the Stikine and Tahltan Rivers.  A scenic flight of the area that would include the Mess Creek Canyon, Mt. Edziza, and the Grand Canyon of the Stikine could be arranged at an additional expense.  The minimum flight would be 1/2 hour, the preferred flight that would include all of the attractions would take an hour. Graham Air uses a Cessna 185 on floats, it can accommodate 3 passengers.  The costs are $225 for the half hour tour or $75/passenger for 3 and $450 for the one hour tour or $150/passenger for 3.    We can also include a road tour that would include the area from TC to Glenora with stops at the 6 mile fish camp.

Day 3 - Depart Telegraph Creek for Wrangell, Alaska mid-morning. Our day will consist of leisurely floating the first 10 to 15 miles with a picnic along the river bank and an overnight camp at either Klootchman Canyon or just below the Little Canyon.  We will use Eureka 4-person backpacking tents per couple for our shelters.  Dinner and Breakfast the next morning will be cooked over the campfire.

Day 4 - Continue on down the river, although today we will not have time to float as we will want to be able to include a stop at Great Glacier Provincial Park with a short hike up to Great Glacier Lake. Once we cross the border into Alaska we will enter the Stikine Laconte Wilderness Area.  We can spend time soaking in the Chief Shakes Hot Springs, along with a side trip to Chief Shakes Lake for an up-close experience of Shakes Glacier.  Continue on into Wrangell late in the day and if possible spend the night with John & Judy Baker at their Grandview B & B.

Day 5 - The boat returns to Telegraph Creek.  Clients have the option of returning upriver to TC on the boat or making arrangements to either fly home from Wrangell via Seattle and Alaska Airlines or by water via the Alaska Ferry system. The total cost of this package from Tatooga Lake is $1450 CDN per client and includes all taxes, transportation, meals and accommodations. The scenic flight is not included in the quoted price.
